Overview
We are seeking a passionate Director of Agronomy / Superintendent with expertise in agronomy, leadership, and environmental stewardship. Your job will be to ensure our course remains in top condition for players. This is a full-time, year-round position. Salary is based on experience with a range of $65,000 - $90,000 Highlands Ridge Golf Course is one of the finest courses in Central Florida. Playing over 7200 yards, Highlands Ridge was designed by world renowned architect, Dave Harmon, who patterned it after Kauri Cliffs in New Zealand, one of the Top 200 Golf Courses in the world. Highlands Ridge is a past recipient of the best golf course in Central Florida.
Experience Required
• Preferred certifications: CGCS; CCGIS; Turfgrass Management Certificate; Pesticide Applicator License • Proven experience in golf course groundskeeping. • Thorough knowledge of the construction of golf courses and the ability to maintain golf course tees, fairways, and greens. • Proficient with the maintenance of different types of turf used on golf courses, the planting, cultivating, pruning, and caring for plants and shrubs. • Knowledge of the characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers, soil conditioners, herbicides and pest control materials and methods. • Possess thorough knowledge of drainage control methods, watering, and irrigations systems, including wells, pumps, and automatic controls. • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays as needed, minimum of 55 hours per week
